Poetry has always came to me in short phases, either when I’m in a bad mood or missing the person who I consider as the most special thing that has happened to me. It hardly finds its way in my usual writing, perhaps due to the lack of my expressive abilities within a story, but now it’s changed. I feel more open and able to translate any sentence into perfect emotion. Unfortunately there is not enough room in a post to explain the psychological aspects and studies concluding of such a physical and cognitive transformation, although I am sure that it’s the Anterior Cingulate Cortex in the brain which interferes with my emotion processing region, causing this array of strong emotions.
…Anyway…
Here it is, my first poem If Only.
My hand and your hand
Joined in harmonious joy
I could lay there forever, in your embrace
Till the sun dies, I’ll be yours
Only memories of a night
So rich of love
Now I lay alone
Wishing of your touch
Your kiss, your hug
Your smile so beautiful
Your eyes and the screaming moon
Longing for the day distance fades
I see you in my dreams
I think of you in my nightmares
If only you knew
There’s only one way to live
It’s with you.
